FEMA Recruiting for Youth Preparedness Council

Students in 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade who are engaged in community service or are interested in emergency preparedness may apply to serve on the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Youth Preparedness Council. Applications are available on line at https://community.fema.gov/applytoYPC.

Boys State

Boys State welcomes civic-minded junior young men who have shown ability in leadership and academics. Boys State presents opportunities to young men who will soon be leaders in government operations.

FGH Spirit Girls

Spirit Girls, a program of Spirit of Women, is designed to reach young women through events targeted at promoting self-esteem, encouraging healthy lifestyles and having lots of fun! Girls in grades 7 through 12 are eligible to participate in Spirit Girls. Participants must be a resident of Forrest General's 19-county service area.

Girls State

Girls State provides an opportunity for superior high school women who have completed their junior year to experience the state government process by providing an intense week of leadership, patriotism and community enlightenment.
