CTE Students and Teachers Recognized at School Board Meeting

Several CTE students and their teachers were recognized by the FCAHS School Board at the November School Board meeting.

*The following FFA members participated in the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana the last week of October 2018. All students participating in team events won bronze medals.

Envirothon: Marley Ladner, Hayley Hines, Tyson Morris, William Ladner

Floriculture: Brianna Allen, Ana McConnell, Brody Martin, Tristan Cooper

Conduct of Chapter Meetings: Joe Miller, Roxann Webb, Genesis Williams, Rachel Smith, Kaitlyn Dearman, Justin Comwell, Camille Clark

Agronomy: Cody Simon, Kristin Caraway, Lane Edwards, Bryce Patrick, Arryn Pope (Substitute)

In addition to Bronze medals, the following students won Silver medals for exceptional individual performance in their respective areas of competition: Hayley Hines, William Ladner, Ana McConnell, and Mike Lomas.

*The following students participated in SKILLS USA National Competition in Louisville, KY in June 2018. These students competed in Quiz Bowl and placed 12th in the nation: Jared Daley, Joseph Graham, Niya McNair, Paden Roberts, Preston Stringer

*The following DECA members participated in ICDC (International Career Development Conf) in April 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia: Torian Benton, Lucas Cooley, Jordan Overturf, Rosa Standley, Elisabeth Walters. Torian and Elisabeth participated in Financial Team Decision Making and placed in the top fifty. Lucas, Jordan, Rosa participated in Hospitality and Tourism.

*The FCAHS HOSA chapter has a state officer for 2018-2019 school year: Kennedi Fantroy. Kennedi graduated from FCAHS in 2018 and completed the Health Science program under the instruction of Judy Grice. She is currently enrolled in USM and pursuing a pre-med degree.
