WCU School of Education to Host Teacher Education Roundup

The William Carey University School of Education will host its annual Teacher Education Roundup on Thursday, April 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Student Conference Center on the Hattiesburg campus.

This event is open to high school and college students who are interested in becoming teachers and assistant teachers in the area who want to get certified to teach. Those with college degrees in other fields who are interested in becoming teachers through the alternate route program are also invited to attend.

During the roundup, faculty members will present information, including curriculum and licensing details, for those interested in entering the teaching profession through the traditional or alternate routes. Information also will be available about the Science and Mathematics Alternate Route Teacher (SMART) program, which will enroll a new class of prospective teachers in fall 2018.
