Suzanne Kelly, Career and Technical Education Director

I am very thankful for the opportunity to serve as the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director at FCAHS. We have an outstanding campus with award-winning instructors throughout our CTE department, and I feel privileged to be a member of the Administrative Team! The first 7 years of my career in education were spent here at FCAHS. I taught Business Computer Technology (BCT) and served as the FBLA Advisor from 2000 – 2007. I have many fond memories of students, faculty, staff, community leaders, and alumni from those years, and I look forward to making many more great memories as I continue to serve as the CTE Director.

I have 17 years of experience teaching Career and Technical programs at both Forrest County AHS and Lamar County Center for Technical Education. I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi, and I am a National Board Certified CTE Instructor. As a lifelong CTE advocate, I am passionate about the many opportunities our CTE programs offer high school students.

CTE students at FCAHS attain technical skills and knowledge through many hands-on experiences while they explore multiple career options before leaving high school. CTE students also have the opportunity to earn various college scholarships based on overall grade point averages and completion of a 2-year CTE program. Research consistently provides evidence supporting the many benefits CTE programs provide for students, schools, communities, and local business and industries. For more information on the many benefits of CTE, please visit www.acteonline.org and click on the tab “What is CTE?”

I am both excited and blessed to have the opportunity to serve as a member of the FCAHS administrative team as I continue to work with the best CTE department in the state!
